I quote Wikipedia  "best literary work ever written".  It is a story of imagination. Peter O'Toole and Sophia Loren act in the cinematic version.

That not much has changed from then till now ... even then mankind was understood to be foolish not understanding the true purpose of our life is to learn and teach at the same time. What can you teach .. when you never learn ?????

To dream the impossible dream
 (I M POSSIBLE  .. IS THE TRUTH)
To fight the unbeatable foe
(THIS EXPLAINS WHY YOU MUST LOSE .. U ASKED FOR IT)
To bear with unbearable sorrow
( WHY MUST WE BE SORROWFUL ALL THE TIME ?)
To run where the brave dare not go
( THIS REFERS TO OUR IMAGINATIVE MINDS .. ITS
A MAZE OR LABYRINTH WHICH HAS NO BEGINNING
AND NO END .. AND IN WHICH WE CAN EXIST FOREVER)

To right the unrightable wrong
(NOT DARING TO DREAM TO BETTER THE WORLD ALWAYS)
To love pure and chaste from afar
( I/YOU ..  AM THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING IN IT)
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star.

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
( IS IT TRULY SO .. ONLY TO THE UNINITIATED)
No matter how far
(ITS NOT FAR .. ITS WITHIN US ALL)

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
(THIS IS THE MOST PERFECT VERSE IN THE WHOLE POEM)

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this
That one woman, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with her last ounce of courage
To reach her reachable star!
